The Kato, Berekum Spot activity for today focused on First Aid Training, aimed at equipping beneficiaries with essential knowledge and skills to handle emergencies effectively. A total of 52 beneficiaries participated in the session.


Activities Conducted:


1. Registration and Attendance:


Beneficiaries were registered, and their attendance was recorded in the attendance book before the training commenced.


2. First Aid Training:

The training covered the following key areas:


Definition of First Aid:

Participants learned that first aid involves providing immediate care to an injured or ill person before professional medical help arrives.


Importance of First Aid:

Discussions emphasized how first aid saves lives, prevents conditions from worsening, and promotes quicker recovery.


Reasons for Performing First Aid:

It was highlighted that first aid reduces the severity of injuries and ensures safety during emergencies.


Who is a First Aider:

The role of a first aider was explained as someone trained to provide immediate assistance in emergencies.


3. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Demonstration:


A significant part of the session was dedicated to CPR. The Catalyst explained and demonstrated the correct techniques for performing CPR, including chest compressions and rescue breaths.


For the demonstration, one of the beneficiaries pretended to be unconscious, providing a realistic scenario for practice.


4. Hands-On Practice:


Beneficiaries were tasked to demonstrate the steps of CPR in a simulated scenario involving one of them acting as unconscious person. This practical activity reinforced the skills taught and ensured participants understood the procedure.
